We received our 1st shipment of the ATX Networks Ucrypt equipment this month and they’re proving to be popular. The Ucrypt product solves the problem of operators that receive/distribute MPEG4 programming but still have customers that want an analog channel lineup. The Ucrypt can receive 20 channels of MPEG4 over IP and output it in an analog format. Ucrypt can also receive and decode Verimatrix conditional access making the transition from MPEG4 to analog simple to setup and maintain. Most customers have opted to offer a 40 channel analog tier on their system and the Ucrypt product fills the need perfectly. While there’s lots of talk about going “all digital”, the process can be complicated and expensive. The analog channel lineup is still a “sticky” product for customers and operators have been looking for a solution. Previously, the solution was to receive MPEG2 and convert it to RF. That works fine as long as you’re receiving MPEG2. More and more operators are moving to MPEG4 either by building their own headend or leasing signal from an MPEG4 provider. Enter the Ucrypt product line and operators can still affordably maintain 40 channels of RF. Call us for a quote.
